The curved front desk
Crescent desks have a curved front edge that brings the working surface closer at the centre and opens out at the sides. Available across the Impulse range in every leg type, in left and right hand versions.
What the curve is for
It puts the keyboard and screen within comfortable reach at the centre while giving more room at the elbows than a straight edge does. For someone who works across a wide surface with paperwork either side, that shape genuinely helps.
It also softens the look of a room. A bank of straight desks is efficient; a crescent front is friendlier, which matters in client facing or reception-adjacent positions.
Check the handing
Crescent desks come in left and right hand versions and they are not interchangeable. Work out which way the return runs against your wall before ordering, because a room full of the wrong handing cannot be fixed by turning them round.
Where a straight desk is the better buy
Any layout with rows or banks. Crescent desks do not line up cleanly against each other, so a floor of them wastes space that straight desks would use.
If the goal is more usable surface rather than the curve itself, corner desks give more of it in the same footprint.
