Personal space without walls
Screens that clamp to a desk top or bench run, including Air desktop screens and Impulse straight screens from 400mm high. They mark out a working area without breaking the room into cubicles.
What a low screen actually does
At 400mm it stops paperwork migrating between desks and gives a clear sense of where one person's area ends. That is a genuine benefit in bench desking, where there is otherwise no boundary at all.
It does very little for noise, and it does not stop eye contact with the person opposite. Anyone selling a 400mm screen as an acoustic solution is overstating it.
Going taller has a cost
Taller screens genuinely separate people and cut some sound, but they also cut daylight across a floor and make an open office feel closed in. Past a certain height you have built cubicles without deciding to.
Walk the floor and vary the height by area rather than picking one number for everywhere.
Check it fits your desks
Brackets are designed against specific frames and top thicknesses. Impulse Plus screens fit Evolve and Impulse desking; Air screens fit the Air collection. A screen bought outside the range usually needs modifying.
