Check what you already own
Shelves are cut and drilled for a specific carcass. An Impulse shelf will not sit correctly in a Qube unit, and neither will fit a cupboard from another manufacturer.
Identify the range and the internal width before ordering, and count what you need per unit rather than in total.
Adding shelves changes capacity more than adding units
Most cupboards ship with fewer shelves than they can take, because manufacturers specify a middle option. A tall cupboard storing box files with only one shelf is wasting most of its volume.
Adding two shelves to an existing cupboard is a fraction of the cost of buying another one, and it is the first thing to try when storage feels tight.
