Three decisions, in order
Shape first: straight for rows and banks, corner where someone needs more surface in the same footprint.
Leg type second, because it changes the look of a room more than the size of the top does. Cantilever leaves the space underneath clear, panel end gives a heavier finished look with side modesty, and cable managed routes power down inside the frame.
Top last: cable port is the standard, scalloped edge gives a continuous channel if your power positions might move.
Where height adjustment changes the answer
If people will stand, that decision overrides the rest. Height adjustable desks cover single sit-stand models and back-to-back benches for whole teams.
Buying for a team rather than a person
Bench desking puts several people on one shared frame. It fits more people into the same floor area and makes power distribution far simpler, which is why it dominates larger fit-outs. Extension kits let a run grow later, so plan the eventual size rather than the current headcount.
Ordering storage at the same time
Desks with storage come with a matching pedestal, which removes the risk of ordering a pedestal that does not fit under the desk you chose.
